This 15th August marks the 74th Independence day of India with the theme for this year being 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'. Our honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’ on May 12, 2020 with a special economic & comprehensive package of Rs 20 lakh crores aimed towards achieving the mission. The Mission focuses on the importance of promoting local products. The mission is expected to complement “Make in India” initiative which intends to encourage manufacturing in India which have a great potential.
So, Let's celebrate the true India with local Indian products. Let's take India to a new height, building a new India- an Atmanirbhar India. We NITIEzens have taken a pledge today that we will make our local products famous. We are celebrating Swadeshi Mandi 2020 where we will be promoting products manufactured in India.

have taken this opportunity to promote Peda of Rajkot, Gujarat because
we Indians don't need an excuse to have sweets.This local version of
Peda is fast gaining popularity all over the country despite a history
that goes back just 50 years.Pedas are usually made of mewa. What sets the Rajkot peda apart is the fact that it is made of plain milk.
Priced between Rs 100 and Rs 250 per kilo, it is available in different flavours like Kesar, Elaichi, Kesar-Badaam, Malai and Chocolate. It has become a must for all occasions and people from far off locations flock to Rajkot to place their orders for the pedas.
For the hundreds of peda manufacturers in the city, it is a sweet way to earn a livelihood.Today, there are about 300 small and big shops, including dairy farms, that sell thousands of kilos of pedas every day.
So the next time if you happen to visit Rajkot, be sure to buy & relish some peda!!!
